GRACELAND EMERGES WINNER OF THE DEBATE/SPEECH PRESENTATION TO MARK WORLD ENVIRONMENTAL DAY 2024 WITH THE THEME: “LAND RESTORATION, DESERTIFICATION AND DROUGHT RESILIENCE”
The 2024 Port Harcourt Link Club
of Nigeria joined the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to mark World
Environment Day 2024, with the Theme “Land Restoration, Desertification and
Drought Resilience”.
The programme featured lots of
activities aimed at promoting academia in society. Lectures were offered, and
debate competitions and quiz for secondary school students were part of the
programme. The presentation of certificates and prizes to various students who
represented their school in the exercise was the high point of the event.
In the national debate competition
and quiz, out of 54 essay/debate entries, The Graceland International School represented
by her student, Kayla I. N. Ofodile, clinched the overall first position
in Essay/Debate Session and won a cash prize of 200 thousand naira only.
We appreciate the efforts of the following English language teachers who helped in the training of the child: Mrs Kanu Nkiru and Mr Nelson Daramola.
